Low energy lighting

Tried editing this on the n95, didnt make a very good job of it because Im rushing again. The strange red glow in close-up shots is caused by the red light on the N95. Anyway by replacing those spotlight bulbs Ive saved about the same amount of energy as it takes to run a computer, so buying efficient bulbs can achieve quite a lot. I think they are going to ban old type bulbs within most EU countries in the next 5 or 6 years. Still I fear most of these savings will be wiped out by larger televisions and digital tv/radio/etc decoders using more power than old analogue stuff!

That’s pretty useful information. I’m a bit of a lighting obsessive, but I hadn’t thought about aggregating the savings for all the lightbulbs.
Agree that the savings may be wiped out by more hungry digital TVs, etc, but at least the overall consumption won’t grow as much as with all old style light bulbs.
That red glow is annoying. There’s a red light on the front of my N93 as well. I’m thinking of putting a bit of black tape across it, which will look crap.
Why isn’t there a menu setting to turn it off like in most DV cams?
